Mountain Lodge - Telluride
Telluride is a funkier, more authentic mountain resort town maintaining a small-town charm. With a mix of cowboy chic and movie star sightings, it offers the best of both worlds. Once a gold mining town, it evolved into a ski town in the early 1970's. Situated in a box canyon, Telluride is surround by forest covered mountains and cliffs with beautiful views of the San Juan Mountains. As with most Colorado mountain towns, Telluride is a laid-back casual ski resort, although it is unique in that most ski instructors and tour guides are likely to be corporate lawyers or doctors who came to ski and never left.
With 142 rooms and condominiums in addition to ten cabins, the resort offers ski-in/ski-out or slope-side accommodations, as well as the upscale amenities and with their gracious service. Whether you choose to visit during ski season, or to enjoy the Colorado summers, there is never a dull moment at the Mountain Lodge. In addition to downhill skiing, there is an abundance of recreational and cultural activities for people of all ages.
The resort offers everything from a lodge rooms, suites, and condominiums, to luxury cabins. The lodge rooms are 185sq.ft./17metres with one queen bed. Suites range in size from 650sf/60m to 900sf/80m The Mountain Lodge has one or two bedrooms condos to accommodate 2 to 6 people including a kitchen. The cabins have three to six bedrooms, each with a large balcony, a barbeque grill, fireplace and flat screen TV. Their spectacular views and various configurations assure that they are able to fit your needs.
The View, Mountain Lodge's restaurant, offers classic tavern cuisine with a high-end flare. It is an ideal place to enjoy dinner and a cocktail while gazing at the beauty of the San Juan Mountains. The restaurant is closed during the shoulder season (early April to late May and mid-October to mid-November).
