The Oxford Hotel has a simple brick front yet inside is adorned with original silver chandeliers with cascading light, western antiques, and elegant furnishings. Showcased on walls are famous western paintings some of them dating back to 1873.

Opened in 1891 The Oxford Hotel has earned its titled as the first luxury hotel in Denver. Denver was becoming a metropolis, growing from the mining and cattle companies, and the Oxford hotel was part of that process. The Oxford Hotel quickly made news with its own power plant, steam heating in every room, electric and gas lighting! Politicians and even the Dalai Lama have stayed at this historic hotel.
